Jim and Darlene Bobb - Your Hosts

This is a family owned and operated business. I am a native New Mexican, I have hunted, fished and trapped this state my entire life. I guided my first hunter Professionally in 1975. I have guided for myself and other outfitters since. With my knowledge of this state and the back country, I intend to give you a successful and enjoyable hunt.

Our hunts are 1 on 1, no more than 2 per 1 guide. My wife assists me as a wrangler, packer, and camp cook on our back country hunts. Our camps are a wall tent structure with a large cook tent, where wholesome home-cooked meals are prepared, all you can eat and plenty of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Sleep tents are furnished with cots, foam pad, woodstove, fire starter and lights.

We are located at the base of the White Mountain Wilderness of the Lincoln National Forest in southern New Mexico. Although we hunt many others areas of the state, this is where we call home. Most of our hunts are conducted in wilderness and primitive areas. This country can be extremely steep and rough, being in good physical condition is necessary to be successful. We hunt with the aid of horses and mules and pack in camps in the back country.

For those of you unable to ride and endure the back country hunts, we can hunt you from our hunting cabin, or lodging located at the base of the mountain, by 4-wheel drive vehicle or on foot.

Two major airports located nearest to us are Albuquerque, N.M.--180 miles to the north and El Paso, TX.-- 180 miles to the south.

Private land hunts are available on request, I assist clients in applying for licenses for Public land hunts.

Price of Hunt includes meals and lodging, accommodations will vary depending on type of hunt and area to be hunted. Price does not include licenses and tax. It is up to the hunter to purchase his or her licenses. Field care of your game is included. Meat processing, cold storage, taxidermy, shipping of meat, capes, and horns is hunter’s responsibilities. Non-hunting companions will be charged an additional fee, which will be determined on type of hunt and area hunted.

Hunter is responsible for his or her personal gear, weapons, their clothes, bedroll etc. Clients will meet me at hunt area unless prior arrangements are made to meet at nearest airport. A 50% deposit is required to book a hunt with the balance due on arrival. This will include state tax.

Hunters for their part should be in good physical condition. New Mexico has a variety of terrain, including very rough rocky canyons and steep forested mountains at elevations ranging from 3,000 to 13,000 feet. An outfitter cannot predict where you will find your trophy, so be ready to go into remote and possibly challenging country. Have your rifle or other sporting arm sighted in and mechanically ready. If you have any questions, please feel free to call, write or e-mail at jamesbobb@windstream.net.
